Today I will be writing about the three most popular Math games: Prodigy, Cool math games, and IXL. My goal is to figure out which one of them is the best overall. Let's start with figuring out the best ways to learn math. The top way of learning math, according to Google, is to start with the basics. In Prodigy and IXL, you can choose which grade level you want so you could start at grade six and work your way up. Another good way to learn math is to have a goal that you are trying to reach. Prodigy has this because you can level up. For example, you could set a goal to level up two times in a day and you have to try to do that every day. In IXL, you can try to set a math record as a goal. However, in cool math games, there are no ways to set goals. You just play random games. Another good way to learn math is through hands-on practice. It isn’t as effective when the teacher just talks on and on but it’s way more fun when you actually get to do math problems like in Prodigy and IXL. In cool math games, you don't really learn anything unless you choose one of two math games on their website (Sudoku or 2048). I personally think prodigy and IXL are better for learning math. Prodigy is more fun but it only has grades K - 8 so it would not be useful from grade 9 and up.
Here is a chart comparing the three websites to help you choose a website that meets your needs.
