Read this script about what would have happened if World War 3 started and look back to how World War 2 ended. This then became a podcast.
My inhale goals for this were number 6 & 7, and my exhale goals for this were number 13 and 16.
In my inhale first I researched the Nagasaki bombing. I noted my sources and the link for the video I watched.
Hi there. I’m Silvana Sabzevari reporting from the Sabzevari news studio. Today marks the fourth day of World War lll. On today's podcast we will be explaining how the war started as well as looking back to the end of World War ll to see how it ended and how they are both similar and different situations.
2 months ago, World War III rapidly became one of the top trending topics on Twitter after the previous night’s announcement that a U.S. airstrike killed Iran’s top general. While a war on that scale is unlikely, according to experts, the actions put the U.S. on a new path of escalation. The airstrike in Baghdad, Iraq, killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was the leader of Iran’s elite Quds Force. After confirming that the U.S. was responsible for the attack, the US Department of Defense said that the 62-year-old was “actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.”
Trita Parsi, executive vice president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft exclaimed that: “Trump talks about ending the endless wars and leaving the Middle East,” Parsi told McClatchy News. “In reality, he may have just started another endless and unwinnable war and ensured that America will remain trapped in the Middle East for decades to come.”
This led many to be in fear for they were worried that World War lll could be on the horizon.
On 8 January 2020, in a military operation code named Operation Martyr Soleimani began. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched more than 12 ballistic missiles at the Ayn al-Asad airbase in Al Anbar Governorate, in western Iraq, as well as another airbase in Erbil, in response to the assassination of Major General Qasem Soleimani by a United States drone strike. The strike was the largest ballistic missile attack ever against Americans.
Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force, later clarified that half an hour before the missiles were fired, Iran informed the Iraqi Prime Minister that they would strike a base in Iraq without saying which base was the target. Hajizadeh said: “the Iranians gave forewarning to the Iraqi government out of "respect”.”
Several more of these attacks were carried out and on Sunday March 15 2020, the US declared War against Iran. This however led to World War lll. Countries joined sides & made alliances with each other and or the US or Iran. With so many atomic weapons nowadays, this could lead to be a catastrophe.
Just less than a century ago, we saw the end to World War ll. On 1945 on April 6th, it was only 8:15AM when the US dropped the hydrogen bomb on Hiroshima. Just 3 days later on April 9, at 11:02AM another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.
Some supporters of this act quoted that: “they believed that the atomic bombings were necessary to bring a swift end to the World War ll.”
An estimated 129 000-226 000 people were killed.
This act led to the end of World War ll. But until the leaders of Iran and the US come together, this war has just begun.
